Community Calendar - Guidelines for Submissions

We invite organizations or individuals who wish to make announcements on our web site to observe these guidelines when making submissions:

1. The event must benefit persons who are affected by a vision loss and be open to the community at large.

 

2. Every effort must be made to ensure that any material available to sighted participants at the event will be made available in alternate formats (i.e. Braille, large print, audio and e-text). If such materials will not be available, your announcement must include such a declaration.

 

3. Postings to this site must:
   • be submitted as text (.txt) files and attached to an e-mail; hyperlinks may be included as long as they are clearly labeled
   • have been proofread and edited
   • include date, time and location details
   • include a contact name and either a telephone number (including area code) and/or an e-mail address should any interested party wish to obtain further information
   • not exceed 250 words in length;
   • not include any additional attachments such as graphics, images, audio files, on-line forms, etc.

   Community Calendar messages will be posted for a maximum of 90 days with removal occurring within 48 hours following the end of the event.

   New postings will be added to the Community Calendar by our volunteers during the last full week of each month, so we recommend submissions be made in a timely fashion.

   ASIC reserves the right to review, edit and/or reject any posting that exceeds space limitations or is found to be inappropriate or objectionable due to content, language or subject matter.
